Self-contained compactors are available in many sizes and options. The SC models are a single straight push cylinder type that can handle about 1 cubic yard per stroke and provide 10 inches of penetration for difficult waste items that have more retention. The SCS systems utilize two crossed cylinders that provide more force and allow for a larger charge chamber. The SCS self contained compactors can handle two cubic yards of waste per stroke with pressures up to 49,200 pounds.
All SP Industries self contained compactors have a patented adjustable hinge system that draws the door in at four points ensuring that the door seal is tight and able to contain liquids for years to come. Easy to replace door seal means that no welding is needed to replace the seal and minimal time is wasted. Specially designed door shapes allow the waste to flow evenly in the container. Also, a tapered body allows for easy removal of compacted waste.
Self-contained compactors can also be narrowed down to a width of 6' in order to fit into special applications. These models are ideal for organizations that require seperate waste and recycling equipment. Two SC's or SCS's can be placed side-by-side in a limited space and operated from one power unit.
At SP Industries, we work with you to solve your waste handling problems. A modified version of the SCS compactors features a raised compactor section of the unit that allows more wet waste to be stored in the container than a typical self contained compactor.
